What we offer, and who each one is for.
Six products cover nearly every situation a family or small business brings us. The right one depends on how long the need lasts, what it costs to solve, and what your health allows.
Term Life
Temporary · 10–30 yearsPure protection for a fixed number of years, at the lowest cost per dollar of death benefit. If you die during the term, your beneficiary receives the face amount income tax free. If you outlive it, coverage simply ends.
- Largest face amount per premium dollar of any product
- Level premium and level death benefit for the whole term
- Convertible to permanent coverage later without new health questions on most contracts
- No cash value — it is protection, not savings
Best fit: a working parent replacing income while children are at home, or anyone with a large temporary obligation and a limited budget.
Whole Life
Permanent · GuaranteedCoverage for your entire life with a premium that is locked at issue and never increases. Part of each payment builds cash value on a guaranteed schedule, which you can borrow against or surrender later.
- Death benefit that cannot expire as long as premiums are paid
- Guaranteed cash value growth, plus dividends if the carrier is a mutual company (dividends are not guaranteed)
- Policy loans available against accumulated cash value
- Costs substantially more than term for the same face amount
Best fit: estate and legacy planning, a lifelong dependent, or a business funding a buy-sell agreement.
Mortgage Protection
Term · Sized to your loanTerm life structured around the mortgage: the term matches your remaining years and the face amount matches your balance. Unlike bank-issued mortgage insurance, the money is paid to your family, not to the lender — they decide whether to pay the house off or use it for something more urgent.
- Your beneficiary controls the funds, not the mortgage company
- Coverage stays with you even if you refinance or sell
- Living benefit riders are commonly available for terminal, chronic, or critical illness
- Disability and unemployment riders can be added on many contracts
Best fit: new homeowners, and anyone who took a mortgage without adding coverage at closing.
Final Expense
Permanent · Ages 50–85A smaller whole life policy, typically $5,000 to $35,000, meant to cover a funeral, burial or cremation, and the medical and legal bills that arrive afterward. Approval is based on a short health questionnaire rather than a medical exam.
- No medical exam; simplified health questions and prescription history
- Premium and death benefit are locked for life
- Available with graded or guaranteed issue options for significant health conditions
- Benefit is paid to your beneficiary, who chooses the funeral home — nothing is prepaid or locked to one provider
Best fit: seniors who want the cost of a funeral off their children, or anyone whose health rules out fully underwritten coverage.
Indexed Universal Life
Permanent · Flexible premiumPermanent coverage where you can adjust premium and face amount over time, and cash value is credited based on the movement of a market index. Crediting is subject to a cap or participation rate on the upside and a floor on the downside, so a negative index year credits zero rather than a loss.
- Flexible premiums, as long as the policy's cost of insurance stays covered
- A floor that protects credited value from index losses
- Caps, participation rates, and charges are set by the carrier and can change
- Requires ongoing review — an underfunded policy can lapse in later years
Best fit: someone who has already maxed out other tax-advantaged options and wants permanent coverage with growth potential, and who will actually monitor the policy.
Annuities & Retirement Income
Accumulation · PayoutA contract with an insurance company that turns a sum of money into income. Interest grows tax deferred during accumulation, and at retirement you choose how the money pays out — including options that continue for as long as you live.
- Fixed, indexed, and immediate contracts, matched to your time horizon
- Tax deferral until distributions begin
- Payout options including life income, period certain, and joint and survivor
- Surrender charges apply during the early contract years, so this is money you will not need soon
Best fit: savers within ten years of retirement who want to convert a portion of their assets into income that cannot be outlived.
